Linear fireplaces framed in porcelain slab, stone, or a marble look, built into the wall so the whole room points to it.

Around Sarasota, a fireplace is mostly about the look and the glow, since cold nights are few. That changes how the wall gets designed. A linear fireplace is long and low, so the surround does most of the work. We frame the wall to fit the unit you pick, then finish it in large-format porcelain slab, stacked stone, or a marble-look panel. The goal is a wall that reads as one solid piece, with the fireplace set into it instead of stuck onto it.
Every fireplace comes with an installation manual, and that manual sets the rules: the framing size, how close combustible material can sit to the opening, where a TV can go above it, and what power it needs. We build the framing and the surround to those numbers. A gas line or a new electrical circuit is a separate trade's work, and it gets done before the wall is closed. If you have not picked a unit yet, we can talk through sizes that suit the wall.
Porcelain slab is a strong choice for the surround. It is dense, needs no sealing the way real marble does, and holds up to heat and humidity. Big panels mean fewer joints, and the veining can be lined up across them so the wall looks continuous. Lit niches or white oak shelves on each side balance the wall and give you a place for decor. When you ask for an estimate, the wall width, the fireplace model if you have one, and a photo of the look you want help the most.

We build the wall and the surround around the fireplace unit and set it into the framing per the maker's instructions. Gas lines and new electrical circuits are work for those trades, so if your fireplace needs either one, it gets done before we close the wall and finish the surface.
Usually, yes. The fireplace manual lists a minimum distance between the opening and a TV or mantel above it. We plan the wall around that number and a height that is comfortable to watch, so the TV is not sitting in the heat or mounted so high it strains your neck.
Both look great. Porcelain slab gives you a marble or stone look in big, thin panels that resist stains and need no sealing. Natural stone has real texture and variation, but it is heavier and more porous. Tell us the look you want, and we will talk through which one fits your wall.
Yes. Electric linear fireplaces need no chimney or flue, so they can go on almost any interior wall that can be built out. The wall gets framed deep enough to hold the unit, and the heat output and clearances come straight from the maker's specs.
